Why is Bioderma Sensibio H2O a Staple in my Beauty Regimen?

As a Beauty Blogger I have tried dozens and dozens of different Micellar Waters from a multitude of brands (ranging from inexpensive drugstore offerings to exclusive luxury offerings), some were OK, some were terrible and some were even GOOD. However, I keep coming back time and time again to Bioderma Sensibio H20 because, in my opinion, it simply works the best. It never irritates my skin, it is effective at taking off all kinds of makeup (It struggles a bit with waterproof mascara), it doesn’t sting my eyes, never breaks me out and never breaks the bank.

By now you have all heard of Micellar Water and you have probably even used it. But, do you actually know how it works and what it does? Simply put, Micellar Water is comprised of micelle particles which are suspended in soft water. The “Micelles” are microscopic balls of cleansing oil molecules that attract dirt and oil naturally without the use of harsh cleansing agents like soap that strip your skin of protein and natural oils disrupting the skin’s protective barrier. Micellar water cleanses your skin of impurities without causing any drying, dulling or stripping of the skin afterwards. Your skin will feel refreshed, clean and soft.

What makes Bioderma Sensibio H20 superior to all other Micellar Waters that I have tried is their particular formulation. According to Bioderma, “Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution (For Sensitive Skin) – 250ml/8.3oz is the 1st and only dermatological micellar water perfectly compatible with the skin: its fatty acid esters, the constituent elements of micelles, are similar to the phospholipids of the skin cell membranes
and naturally help rebuild the skin’s hydrolipidic film.” While I can not substantiate the claims made by Bioderma, I can attest to the effectiveness of the product.

I use Sensibio daily. In the morning I use it as a toner after washing my face. If I did not use any heavy night creams, I will sometimes just use Sensibio H20 to clean my skin by soaking a cotton pad and gently swiping it across my face. Before bed, I will use Sensibio before washing/exfoliating my face and then, if I really had a particularly heavy makeup day, or if I feel like I need it I will even use Sensibio H20 instead of a Toner after washing/exfoliating.

And, shamefully, when I am too lazy to wash my face before bed and do my entire nigh-time skincare ritual I will take my makeup off with Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution (For Sensitive Skin) – 250ml/8.3oz by using soaked cotton pads until no more traces of makeup can be seen on the cotton.

Bioderma does offer Micellar Cleansing waters for different skin types. The Sensibio line of products is formulated for sensitive skin, however,  It is safe to use on all skin types and is my preferred formulation. Sébium is formulated for oily skin types and Hydrabio is formulated for dry skin. Most makeup artists I know carry a Sensibio in their kit to prep their clients skin as it works universally well on all skin types.
